Mad Chatter Live is a live calling app. You claim an @handle, people tap it, and you're on a call. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, who touches it, and how to get rid of it.
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with anyone for their own advertising. We don't use advertising identifiers, and there are no ad networks or ad trackers in the app.
Who we are: Sphereglow Enterprises, LLC, 846 Santa Fe Ave., Albany, CA 94706 — hello@madchatter.chat. Questions, requests and complaints all go to that address.
Your email address. Used to claim and verify your @handle, to send the one-time codes that prove the handle is yours, and to let you recover it. If you opt in, we also use it to send product news — you can opt out at any time. We don't use it for anything else.
Your @handle and display name. Your @handle is your call address, so it's public by design: anyone who has it can see the handle, your display name, and whether you're accepting calls. Your handle is permanent — see section 6.
Purchase history. If you subscribe, we store which plan you're on and whether it's active, so we can unlock the right features. Card and payment details are handled entirely by Apple, Google or Stripe — we never see or store them.
Call notes you choose to write. If you ask for a call recap, the notes you type — along with the participants' names and how long the call lasted — are sent to OpenAI to be turned into a summary. We keep the summary, the title, the key points and the action items on your account. We don't store the raw notes you typed.
Conversation starters. If you ask for icebreakers before a call, we send your first name, the name of the person you're about to call, and the “vibe” you picked (friendly, deep, playful or professional) to OpenAI to generate three suggested questions. That's all it gets — no call content, no contact list, and nothing is kept afterwards. If the AI is unavailable, you get a built-in list instead and nothing leaves our server.
Call alerts (push notifications). If you turn on call alerts, your phone's push token is sent to our push delivery provider so an incoming call can reach you when the app is closed. The alert carries only the caller's name and your @handle. We don't store the token ourselves, and you can turn alerts off at any time in your device settings.
How you use the app. We record basic product events — a handle was claimed, a call was started, a paywall was seen — so we can tell whether the app works. These are tied to your handle.
Calls are never recorded and never stored by us. Video and audio pass through our calling provider in real time to reach the other person. When the call ends, it's gone. Nobody at Sphereglow Enterprises, LLC can watch or listen to your calls, then or later.
We don't access your phone's contacts (address book), your photo library, your precise location, your health data, your files, or your messages from other apps. We do keep your call history (who you called, who called you, and when) and your People list on your account so the app can show them to you. Camera and microphone are used only while you're on a call, and only after you've granted permission — which you can withdraw in your device settings at any time.
We use a small number of service providers. They process data on our instructions only, and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes.
| Provider | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Daily | Live video and audio transport during calls (not recorded) |
| Resend | Sending verification codes and account email |
| RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play | Subscription purchases and entitlements |
| Stripe | Subscriptions bought on the web |
| OpenAI | Generating call recaps and conversation starters (model: GPT-4.1 mini) |
| Emergent | App hosting, our MongoDB database, routing our requests to OpenAI, and delivering call alerts (push notifications, via SuprSend) |
| Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) | Delivering call alerts (push notifications) to Android devices |
| Apple (Push Notification service) | Delivering call alerts (push notifications) to Apple devices |
That's the full list. We don't pass your data to data brokers, advertisers or analytics networks.
Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). One-time codes are stored hashed, expire quickly, and lock out after repeated wrong attempts. Access to the production database is limited to the people who run the service.
We don't store raw IP addresses. To stop spam and abuse we need to be able to recognise the same caller twice, so we take your IP address and turn it into a one-way hash with a secret key. Two things use it: short-lived rate limits, which live only in the server's memory and vanish on restart; and the per-handle caller blocklist, so that if you block someone they stay blocked. Only the hash is ever written down, it can't be turned back into an address, and it's deleted with the rest of your data when you delete your account.
At sign-up we look up your approximate country from your IP address and keep the country code with your account, to understand where Mad Chatter Live is used. IP geolocation by DB-IP.
We keep your account data for as long as your handle is active. Product events and the durable record that a handle was claimed are kept for as long as the service runs. We have not had an independent third-party security audit, and we don't claim one.
Anyone can report a handle for abuse. When a report is made we store the handle being reported, a reason from a fixed list, an optional note of up to 500 characters, and the time. We do not store anything identifying the person who reported — no name, no email, no account link. Reports are rate-limited, counted against the reported handle, and emailed to our support address so a human can review them. We use them to decide whether to warn or remove an account; they are not shared with the person who was reported.
You can delete your account at any time:
Deleting your account immediately and permanently removes your email address, your display name, your call recaps, your call history, your subscription record and your verification codes, and cancels any subscription we bill directly. A deletion request has to prove it owns the handle, so nobody else can delete your account.
One thing survives on purpose: your @handle is retired, not released. It is permanently tombstoned so that nobody else can ever claim your old call address and receive calls meant for you. All that's left is the handle itself and the fact that it's retired — no personal information attached. This is a safety decision, it is not reversible, and it means you cannot get the handle back either. Choose your handle carefully.
If you'd rather remove data without giving up the handle, use /delete-data.
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for product email. Email hello@madchatter.chat and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection regulator.
Sphereglow Enterprises, LLC is a California company, so the CCPA/CPRA applies. In the last 12 months we collected the categories described in section 1 — identifiers (email, handle, display name), commercial information (purchase history) and internet activity (in-app events) — for the purposes given there.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We never have. There is no “Do Not Sell or Share” action to take, because there is nothing to opt out of. We also don't profile you, and we don't run ads.
You have the right to know what we hold, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for asking. Email hello@madchatter.chat; we'll verify you own the handle before we act, then respond within 45 days. You may use an authorised agent, and we'll ask for proof of authorisation.
Mad Chatter Live isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created a handle, email hello@madchatter.chat and we'll remove it.
If we change what we collect or who processes it, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
